Renaler Natrium-Phosphat-Kotransporter PIT-2
Das SLC20A2-gen kodiert einen der drei natriumgekoppelten Phosphattransporter der Niere. Insgesamt scheint dieser Transporter nur in geringem Maße an der Rückresrption von Phosphat beteiligt. Da wahrscheinlich die anderen Transporter sehr gut in der Lage sind einen Funktionsverlust auszugleichen, sind bisher keine Phosphatmangelerkrankungen mit diesem Gen in Verbindung gebracht. Bei Mutationen kommt es zu zur autosomal dominanten idiopathischen Verkalkung der Basalganglien Typ 1.
